Mary Jo Timmons, originally from Belle Vernon, Pa., was born into a military family. She has lived in Delaware since 1963 and moved to Sussex County in 1974. She worked as a psychiatric social worker,  then as a counselor for the Indian River School District and was the guidance director for Sussex Central High School before becoming a REALTOR. Her counseling skill set has been of particular value in her Real Estate career. Being able to listen and identify a client’s wants and needs is a vital part of the Real Estate profession.

 

Married to Steve Timmons, she enjoys sewing, making wedding gowns, doing costume work with the Possum Point Players, gardening, cooking, and virtually anything outdoors. Being from western Pennsylvania, she is an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan!

 

Additionally, she has always had an interest in the construction and project aspects of garment design and execution. She believes that technical interest and knowledge easily transfers to the world of today’s Real Estate market. As a counselor, she displayed an adage prominently in her office: “Attitude is Everything.” While the sign is not in her office, it is in her heart and she carries it everywhere she goes (and hopes that her former students do, too!).
