Mark Schaeffer

Mark specializes in all aspects of commercial real estate. He obtained his real estate license in 1982 and his Broker’s license in 1988. Mark has extensive experience with land use issues in Delaware working with local attorneys, engineers, architects, and municipalities throughout New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties. He has played an essential role in the planning, approval and permitting processes, and construction of many communities and commercial sites in all 3 counties.

Mark has served on the board of numerous non-profit organizations such as American Red Cross of Central Delaware, Central Delaware YMCA, and Kent General Hospital Foundation. He has also served on the Governor’s Council on Labor for the State of Delaware and is a past Commissioner of Mid-Atlantic Regional Fishery Management Council and a past Commissioner of the Delaware River and Bay Authority. He served for 6 years as the Mayor of the Town of Smyrna and played an integral part in attracting the 1.2 million sq. ft. Wal-Mart Distribution Center to Smyrna’s Business Park. During Mark’s tenure as mayor, over 2,000 jobs were created in Smyrna. Mark now resides with his wife, Ruby, at their home in Lewes Beach and enjoys spending time with his 5 children and 5 grandchildren.
